Michael received his PhD in Pharmacokinetics from the prestigious Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research (CAPKR, The University of Manchester). Michael then joined Roche (Roche Innovation Center Basel) as DMPK Project Leader, translational Modelling and Simulation scientist and Pharmacometrician for large and small molecules. In his role as Expert Scientist, he now provides project leadership and PK/PD expertise to compounds at various stages of development, from target assessment to entry-into-human and has contributed to the successful developments of Alectinib, Risdiplam and Crovalimab.
Michael has provided mentorship and training to various PhD students and postdoctoral fellows over the past 10 years. His current research focusses on PK and drug-drug interaction (DDI) predictions in pediatric and neonate populations and translational PK/PD models in ophthalmology and immunology. Michael is an external lecturer at the University in Bern and the ETH in Zurich.
