Amita Joshi, Ph.D., is the Vice President of Clinical Pharmacology at Genentech/Roche with more than 25 years of experience in Drug Development. Her Clinical Pharmacology team is responsible for identifying the right dose/regimen for Genentech/Roche medicines.
Amita has focused efforts on capacity building for Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics through several training initiatives such as - Genentech-UCSF/CERSI Fellowship, Genentech/Howard Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology, UOP-Genentech PharmD Fellowship, UNC-Genentech PharmD Fellowship, UF-Genentech Fellowship and, PharmD Rotations. More recently, Amita initiated a collaboration with the Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) for capacity building in Africa and developed the first AREF-Roche and Genentech Fellowship Program to support a strong ecosystem for African science by training scientists from Africa who will go back to their home institutions after their training.
Amita is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences in the School of Pharmacy at UCSF where she has supported a brand new MS curriculum on capacity building in AI and Computational Drug Discovery and Development (AI-CD3).
Amita is an Associate Editor for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and served as the special issue editor for AI/ML in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
