Director of Yale PET Core, Associate Professor of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging
Yale University
New Haven, Connecticut, United States
Marc D. Normandin, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at Yale University and Director of the Yale PET Core. His work spans a variety of laboratory and medical imaging techniques toward the development and application of noninvasive physiological measurement technologies and assessment of therapeutic interventions. To that end, his group utilizes pharmacokinetic analysis techniques, radiosynthetic/analytic procedures, and molecular assays to characterize biological processes in cell culture, tissue samples, and in vivo imaging in animals and human subjects. Areas of interest include the development and application of methods to image neurotransmitter release, relating receptor occupancy to neurovascular responses, characterization of novel radiotracers, and in vivo assessment of candidate therapeutics through pharmacokinetic modeling and dose-response occupancy studies. Dr. Normandin teaches about PET pharmacokinetics locally in the classroom and internationally in longstanding courses affiliated with major medical imaging conferences.
