Peter Bonate, PhD, FAAPS, FACCP, FISoP, is the Executive Director of New Technologies in the Early Development Group at Astellas. He received his PhD from Indiana University and MS degrees from Washington State University and the University of Idaho. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), and a Fellow of the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP). He was awarded the AAPS Research Achievement Award in Clinical Pharmacology and Translational Research in 2015. He served 4 years on the Board of Directors of ISoP and was treasurer for two of those years. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics and Associate Editor of Pharmaceutical Statistics. He has more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and is co-editor of the 4-volume series “Pharmacokinetics in Drug Development”. He is author of the book “Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic Modeling and Simulation, 2nd edition”, which has had over 50,000-chapter downloads since its publication. His research interests include the application of machine learning to pharmacometrics and pharmacometric analysis of rare events in clinical trials.
